International adoption: the first ever Russia

The international adoptions in 2010 for Italy have scored a record year: 4130 well children from 58 countries worldwide. The country that leads the country of origin of these children is Russia is a leader in second place this year while Colombia, it appears that an increase compared to 2009 by more than 33%. Followed by Ukraine, Brazil, Ethiopia and Poland.

Compared to families who adopt, the majority resides in Northern Italy, Lombardy in the first place. Followed by Lazio, Tuscany and Veneto. It is interesting to record in 2010 confirmed the steady growth of the southern regions, Campania and Puglia in the first place. The adoptive families are confirmed by the relatively high average age, with middle-and upper studies belonging to categories of workers such as teachers, employees and freelancers.
